BLUE SPRING solar powered desalinators are extremely compact in size and they boast a giant output of 300 - 6,800 Liters/day (80-1,800 gallons per day), depending on the model chosen. Models SW-80S and SW-1MS which have fresh water production capacity of 300 liters/day (80 GPD) and 570 liters/day (150 GPD) respectively, are ideal for one or two homes, or for restaurants and tourist stations located on the coast or an island. They are also suitable for yachts and fishing boats and as a portable, emergency drinking water supply in case of tsunami, hurricane, or similar natural disaster in the coastal region. They can be easily carried by two persons and set up in a matter of minutes! Models SW-2MS, SW-3MS and SW-7MS which have fresh water production capacity of 1,300 liters/day (340 GPD), 2,500 liters/day (660 GPD) and 6,800 liters/day (1,800 GPD) respectively, are ideal for coastal communities, island resorts, off-shore oil-rigs and for other municipal applications. They are also suitable for naval ships, ocean liners and large cargo ships. These solar powered desalinators easily support total domestic water needs of 4 - 90 people, or drinking water needs of 80 - 1,800 people inhabiting yachts, coastal and island communities, resorts, pipeline installations, off-shore rigs, military bases etc., wherever the supply of fresh water is scarce, but seawater is abundantly available.
The units produce low-salinity, bacteria-free fresh water which surpasses the drinking water standards established by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.). Optional chlorination systems are available for safety of drinking water in cases where the water will be stored for long periods of time.
The heart of the Blue Spring System SW-S sea water desalination system is a high pressure reverse osmosis sea water desalinator and an array of photovoltaic solar electric panels. The unit incorporates several advanced engineering features pioneered by Blue Spring Corporation, the worldwide leader in water purification technology since 1980. For example, they use the latest energy-saving thin-film-composite (TFC) reverse osmosis membranes which are highly resistant to ocean-borne micro-organisms, and which show extra-ordinary purification efficiency for sea water. The reverse osmosis desalinator unit used in Blue Spring System SW-S series desalination systems is so energy-efficient that it works in Sunlight as low as 30% of the peak value during the day. This translates into longer operating hours and more fresh water production capacity for the same number of solar panels. The number of operating hours can be further extended by using our optional storage battery pack. With the storage battery pack, the system has three modes of operation: solar power only, battery power only, or solar/battery power simultaneously. The battery-only operation is particularly helpful when small amounts of fresh water are needed in emergency, during night-time.
Blue Spring System SW-S solar powered sea water desalinators use a new breed of high-efficiency solar electric panels. These panels produce high electrical output even at lower light levels and their expected life is of the order of 25 to 30 years. They can be mounted on roof-top of an existing building , or they can be mounted on the ground, for capturing maximum solar radiation.
The units are designed for durability and trouble-free operation. They include a fine-grade pre-filter of disposable cartridge design. This assures efficient removal of marine debris, sand and other particles, thereby extending the operating life of the reverse osmosis membrane modules. Optional media filters are available for treating cloudy or hazy sea water. All the materials that come in contact with water are corrosion-resistant stainless-steel, or specialty polymers. The support structure and the cabinetry are fabricated from a welded aluminum frame for enduring the salty environment.
All instrumentation and operating controls are ergonomically mounted on the front front panel. The instrumentation continuously monitors system performance and output water salinity. A flow meter monitors the production of fresh water. The units have built-in Hi-Lo level control electronics which can be easily connected to a fresh-water storage tank by means of our top-entry level sensor. Built-in power connectors for sea water intake pump and optional chlorination pump are on the back panel. The unit has three-way safety protection in cases of malfunction due to high temperature, low feed water, or electrical overload.
Blue Spring System SW-S solar powered desalinators can provide you with high-quality, fresh drinking water from the ocean - the ultimate source of water - in locations never thought habitable until now ! And it is backed by Blue Spring Corporation, the world's most trusted name in water purification since 1980.
